The Brazilian Giant Whiteknee is not calm! :p I have a sling that is about 1.5 inches and it readily goes into a threat pose if I disturb it. It's also very skittish and lightening fast. That said, I will say that it can make a great first tarantula as long as you don't attempt to handle it. It is super fun to feed and grows very quickly...with each molt the change in size is pretty impressive. Mine has molted twice and has gained about a 1/2 inch with each molt. Not to mention it is also a beautiful tarantula! If you're considering a Whiteknee, go for it...just don't try to make it a handpet! ;) P.S. If you decide to get one, check out jamiestarantulas.com...this is where I got my Whiteknee. Good luck!
