So I have been lurking and learning for a couple of months and in the last too weeks I have added 2 tarantulas. My first was a well behaved and unsexed Pink Toe and yesterday I pink up a feisty and possibly female Goliath Bird Eater yesterday. Both came from Fin & Feather in Lakeside VA for what I consider very good prices for the size and enclosure that came with. Looking forward to getting a few more like a G. Pulchra, Red Knee or Red Leg, and an A. Purpea. All advice is welcomed and I am near impossible to offend!

Need help just added an unidentified one due to so many in one shipment at the pet store. Very healthy looking and ate a pill bug when I added them. Any clues to what kind?

Last Friday it was 99 degrees in the RVA so I had time to do a little project. My house was built in 1923 so I save all scraps of wood from it when I remodel and found the perfect piece of tight grain pine that I suspect is heart pine. The wire is 12 gauge solid copper and the holders are epoxied into the wood. The first is the old way with twisted wire and hot glue. Definitely looks better

Is the orange thing a carrot? If so, likely for the roach to draw it out? Just curious.
