Hey guys,

Just wondering if anyone has any ideas about this one. I have a 1" curly haired sling which has just shed. It seems to have a dark brownish patch on the top of it's abdomen. I think that maybe it hasn't come off entirely. I really don't want to handle it as it is too fast and tiny and I can't upload a pic as s/he is in a vial- you can not see anything. Other than keeping humidity at top range for this T what could/should I do?

Thanks in advance.

That patch is normal for slings and even adults. I just couldn't remember what it called. ;)

After a short search through here, it is called "mirror patch". I do hope it's what you meant though.

Thanks for your replies. It's definitely not that patch. I have had another look since and it has come away a little more. It defo looks like part of the abdomen is hanging on still by a little flap of skin. It seems to have progressed but I'll keep updating.

you can take a tiny brush, make up or paint type and very lightly dab some clean water on it if it doesn't loosen on its own.
Sometimes it helps.

All you can see is dirt. It's the remnants of it's molt. I can now see its the carapace and a dry patch of the abdomen which is keeping it stuck.

I managed to get it off. It must have known I was helping as it didn't even flinch. Came off quite easy after a few brushes with a wet paint brush and to finish, a dry one. Thanks.
