I feel like sponges are kind of debated still, and I left the ones in the scorpions containers I bought from a guy, but there is this petstore not too far from me that uses the water crystal gel in the spider enclosures.

I even saw one drinking (attempting to drink?) from it, but I was so confused!

Right. I dont think there should be much of a debate really. I mean a sponge is a bacteria feeding ground. And there arent any sponges for spiders to drink from in the wild. lol or water crystals. I use crystals for the crikets keeper but that just cause they r soooo dumb.lol

I just bought one (rescued one) from my LPS tonight! Looks exactly the same as this pic, & was also sold as Avic avic. I wondered if it was a true A. avic, because I've never seen one with a reddish rump. But, I've only owned a penultimate male who just matured. So, was thinking juvies must have red on the rump...but not sure. I need to go look at pics & haven't done it yet. :-/
