My lady Chaco Golden Knee rarely goes into her hide. casually showing off her beauty as she meanders around her enclosure. THEN, there is my Arizona Blonde. Webbed all openings in its enclosure and stopped eating. I assumed it was pre-molt. I was correct and was able to witness the final stages of his molt. After a few days, I saw him outside of his hide, beautiful colors and noticeably larger, I was looking forward to a photo session later that day. Woke up to massive burrowing and back in its hide and all openings are once again webbed closed. Fresh water was always available but never saw him drink. I am waiting the 2 weeks to allow for hardening of fangs before feeding. Now with him inside his hide and all doors shut, what is going on with him? Maybe unnecessary concern. The contrast between tarantulas magnifies the "possible issue". I was able to get the molt out and it is a perfect specimen (see attached). Another note is that when I acquired him (wild caught here in Arizona) he had a "nemo like" leg that was smaller than the others. It was guessed that he had an encounter that caused the leg to get lost. After the molt the nemo leg visible in molt appeared to look like the other legs. Very cool resilient ability. Any thought would be greatly appreciated.</p></blockquote><p></p>
