Hi,

This lovely girl came to live with me yesterday. I already posted on another thread that her tank was a bit of a mess and that she had a bald back end, but today I managed to snap a couple of pics. Is there anything I need to do to help her? Or is it just a case of waiting for her next moult?

Here's some pictures of my female Lasiodora parahybana enclosure. Plenty of leg room for her. She has a hide but never uses it.View attachment 65646View attachment 65647View attachment 65648
That looks fantastic!

May I ask how big is your LP and how big is her enclosure? I'm looking to buy a new enclosure for mine as hers is a 13" (ish) exoterra cube and I'm guessing she is a good 10"+ in size. I haven't seen her fully extend her legs yet, but her body is at least 4 - 5" long.

I know I have a habit of going for too big an enclosure, but I thought this might give her more space? https://www.reptiles.swelluk.com/swell-premium-nano-habitat.

Thank you. Shes probably 7"- 8". The enclosure is a ZooMed creatures low profile enclosure. It measures out to be
10.5" W x 20.5" L x 8 H" I can usually find them for around $50. You'll want to change the top out to acrylic instead of the screen. Not that she'll get stuck because she can still touch the floor but because she will escape.

I know I shouldn't laugh but... XD I'm surprised you haven't renamed her to Houdini!

101 questions again (I'm sorry). When you replaced the top with acryllic (I see you put air holes in for ventillation) how do you fasten the top down? On my screen it looks like you've used silicone, but I'm guessing you don't re-silicone it every time you feed her? Also will 10.5" be wide enough for her when she's fully grown? I'm trying to balance what will fit in the cabinet with ensuring mine has enough space and I can manage up to 13" depth of tank.

The previous owner's daughter guestimated that mine was 7 or 8 years old, so I guess she may grow a bit more over the next few years - does the rate of growth slow as they get older?

What I keep looking for is a 12" x 12" x 24" enclosure - preferably with front opening doors, and good ventilation but I can't find one in the UK yet. I'm very tempted to email Swell or Exo Terra and ask them why they don't make them ... XD
