You could always try mixing your own Coco coir ,peat moss ,potting soil ,multi-purpose compost. I use 2 or 3 off these and mix them together and just keeping adding to it . I even use some vermiculite in the past .I use to use Spider Life substrate but if you got a few its cheaper to mix...
It is normal for Ts to refuse food if there come up to a molt . Some Ts also stop feeding from time to time . My experience with Curly hairs is they have great feeding response and hardly ever refuse food but will refuse food when coming up to molt . Your T does not look starved to me .
I have an MM Psalmopoeus cambridgei that lays on the bottom of the terrarium all day but at night he climbs on the terrarium walls and cork bark at night . If its a male you should be able to see the pedipalps and tell by looking at them .
I would say the breeding factor would play big factor and demand . How big the following is in each country ,but I always could not figure out the price tags in U.S.A most the T that where sort after where from the USA but cheaper in UK when I first started.
