Oh, that's normal. It becomes more pronounced and darker the closer you get to a molt too. People call it a mirror patch. On other species, they can be quite iridescent and reflective, similar to a mirror. They're just setae.
Also, you can find breeders here, on Arachnoboards and on the Facebook group Tarantula Classifieds. If you prefer to buy in person, I recommend looking up a reptile show near you. Tarantulas are sold there. There are so many reasons to not buy from pet stores. You get charged more too.

The photo isn't clear enough or close enough. P. metallicas aren't inclined to bite, but they do have medically significant venom, so if it was spooked, you may have an ER trip in your near future.
