My worst nightmare: Tarantula Gifted to me

Looks good, let the substrate dry out tho, they prefer dry conditions. You could add more substrate if you wanted to if your concerned about her falling but she may make a burrow, mine did that and I didn't see her for over a month! Feed her once a week, but don't stress if she doesn't eat, they...

    Need advice on my tarantula!!!!

Thanks for the reply, been a long time since I have kept tarantulas. Heat mat is on the side of the Viv, other side from where she spends her time. It's set to 20 Celsius so runs at around 20-21 Celsius warm end and 18 -20 cool end. learnt that the hard way when I was younger! Thought it was...

    Need advice on my tarantula!!!!

I may be being paranoid here but my A Seemani (think thats the scientific name for a Costa Rican Zebra, correct me if I'm wrong, still learning!) But she's been sat in the same corner for over a week now barely eaten anything, not really moved (know that's normalish). She did at start, start...

    Goliath Tarantula

I know it's a completely different tarantula but my old Chile rose used to love a swim! Had to put a small dog bowl in her enclosure as she kept spilling all the water out of her original bowl Can't see anything on the T, so long as she hasn't taken a fall I wouldn't worry to much.

What about a contest for Viv set ups? Just throwing it out there as this is my favourite part (next to getting the tarantula), and IV seen some fantastic enclosures?

    Substrate Choices

I use a Coco block in the base then Coco fibre on top, found this helps to keep humidity for my A Seemani and keeps the top substrate relatively dry. I very lightly mist the inside of hide (when she isn't in it!) And she seems to be doing fine.

    New member , advice needed

That case it may be the size of the Viv, let her settle for a couple of days, see if anything changes, if not try moving her to a smaller viv. Dependent on size, I tend to aim for a good 3-4inch leg space when small, so not a massive Viv. Sure more experienced keepers here can give you a more...
