First tarantula, I need some advice!

Might stick some foliage near the top. I wouldn’t worry a tree tank being too big. Spiders live in the wild. As long as it can catch food.

    New acrylic setup

I got rid of the cotton in the water and replaced the moss behind the cork with more dirt

Molting and feeding of Venezuelan Suntigers

I’m not sure I didn’t have the opportunity to buy one. It’s on the top though so I don’t think it would be a “side” vent or any vent

Yeah I do believe it’s the Exo Terra’s that you can find custom acrylic tops for. Unfortunately, I could not locate any for my Zoo Med so I had to order a new terrarium

Spiders that are tree climbers like ours will spend most of their time up top and will crawl along the mesh. Sometimes their tiny foot claws get stuck in the mesh and they get stuck. I’ve read about them losing legs or other damage because of it.

I recently got a young Avi as well, I almost bought a V Suntiger like you did, but ended up with a pink toe. I noticed you have a mesh top in the terrarium. Mine does too, however it is recommended that you replace the mesh top with acrylic. I hear you can buy them on Etsy for your type of tank...

New Pink. Not sure which type.

Labeled “pink toe” at the shop. When I shine a light on him he has metallic blue and green shining back on his legs. Otherwise looks dark black and pretty bright toes. Anyone have a good idea of the type of Pink he is? Also, I’m guessing “him” right now based on the size of his rear.

    Howdy, new Pink Toe

Changed it up a little. He’s already eaten and doesn’t seem stressed. Doesn’t seem timid and doesn’t mind my presence around him

    Howdy, new Pink Toe

Thanks, I've been reading that here. It probably gets no lower than about 65 in there, but I can use the heater. I also have an under tank 4W heating pad so Yeah I'll ditch the heating lamp and see what happens.

    Howdy, new Pink Toe

Hi, I just got this juvie Pink Toe. Pretty sure male. Has a Chilean Rose Haired as a kid, decided to give ownership another go. I’ve taken care of many spiders as I spent a few years working at a pet store that always carried several types at the same time. Attached a couple pics. Still deciding...
