I was told not to disturb or feed my Ralphie, only water. I did as told and 85 days later he is out and beautiful. It was not easy to do but they were right.
This is what I found when I got it out, as you can probably see it's a hard shell. The fangs are visible. I have read a few things about sexing them, so I will see what I can find. Any help would be welcomed.
Ralphie came out last night, beautiful and much bigger. My pictures didn't come out very well but here he is. I'm going to try to get the molt out today, I'm hoping to find out if it's a boy or girl. Fangs look healthy.
Thank, I will wait to feed him. He is still in the hideout so I haven't seen much. I'm not even sure it is a boy but I don't want to disturb anything yet.
85 days and out of nowhere he uncovered the hide out, I can see him but he is not coming out yet. He looks bigger and brighter. I will post pictures soon. It hard to believe that they can go that long without food.
It has been 85 days, no food no water, that I'm aware of. Today Ralphie has unearthed itself, Ralphie is still in the hideout but I can see in. Looks brighter and bigger. Thank you for your help. I will post pictures when he comes out.
Ralphie is still burrowed in 54 days now. I don't know how they can live without food or water for this long but I am still leaving him alone. I am making sure to keep fresh water and I mist the enclosure. The substrate seems to be very dry, should I dampen it?
45 days and Ralphie is still burrowed in his hideout, no food and no water, there has been no sign of him coming out. I change the water every day. I have been doing research and from all I read, this happens but how do I know that he is not dead. Getting nervous.
