Not eating, but not a moult. (Worried Owner)

Little update: Zoltan has eaten! I took on the advice of a change in food and he has wolfed a cricket down this after noon! I am beyond relieved :p

Not eating, but not a moult. (Worried Owner)

He hasn't ever really been too fussy with food, usually will take crickets or maybe a worm, would that be a problem? His butt is always nice and plump and his water dish is filled daily, just worried about the little fella.

Not eating, but not a moult. (Worried Owner)

He is definitely a confirmed male, but he has not reached maturity. He is still a juvenile, but I'm unsure at what size they are considered sub-adult. He is roughly 4 inches, has a healthy looking butt and seems as active as he ever has been. Could it be due to a drop in the weather? It's been a...

    Why did my T die?

Yes, it will be very interesting to hear what happened to your T! Did she show any other signs of anything being wrong? I've heard little whispers of T's just not being hungry, would you say that this is more an adult T thing? Thanks for the reply too :) That has (kind of) put my mind at rest...

    Why did my T die?

I'm a little worried now after reading this, as I'm in the same situation with my T! He is roughly about 4 inches and had recently molted over two months ago. He ate fine until 3 weeks ago (a cricket every week) but then he just didn't go near them. I now try to feed him every 4-5 days, and for...

Not eating, but not a moult. (Worried Owner)

Hi there, Recently Zoltan (my Bsmithi/Hamorii) moutled, which was 2 months ago now! He has eaten well after it for a while (one cricket every week), but now he is refusing food. He hasn't eaten in about three weeks all in all, and I must admit that I am rather worried. His butt is still a very...

    Angry Pre-moult?

Nah, I wouldn't have it in me to kick him to the curb. But he will have to learn to be nice with me if he wants another cricket :p It is funny, I never expected it!!:T:

    Angry Pre-moult?

I'm hoping that he will turn into a gentle little soul, fingers crossed anyway. I wonder if it is different for males and females?

@Marija I feel the exact same about my animals, it's a mystery to me why nobody wouldn't want to care for them properly. That's brilliant news :) I'm happy for you!! I'm hoping Zoltan will be a quick moult, but he rarely uses his hide so I hope that wont hinder him any.

    Angry Pre-moult?

Oh my goodness, is this what I have to look forward to?? I thought he had settled down with his last one and lost a hell of a lot of his skittish side, but now I just have an asshole T staring me down. That's going to be fun!:p

    Angry Pre-moult?

With his last moult, Zoltans colours came through brilliantly, much brighter and way more obvious than before. He is still only 3 inches and has a long way to go yet, but perhaps you are right about that! I've never tong fed Zoltan, I always prefer to watch the hunt ;) but if he ever came at me...

@Marija Wow, those conditions sound terrible! Poor, poor T :( but it definitely sounds like you did the right thing :D I would have done the exact same! I've always been told that you can't leave live food (especially worms of any type) in with the tarantula, and even more so in pre-moult, so I...

    Angry Pre-moult?

Has your B.Smithi always been that way? Because until the recent behaviour change, Zoltan was rather gentle and was only ever skittish on certain occasions (like moving the water bowl to clean it out or whatever.) I did one last try with a cricket just now and he has avoided it like the plague...
