    Molting soon?

The photo is a wee bit blurry, but it looks like a darkening abdomen. Is it still taking food or refusing it all together? If it is refusing all food, it is highly likely in premoult. Be careful not to leave a prey item in the enclosure of a tarantula in premoult, as that’s a very real threat...

    New arrivals + another 2

Nice, can’t wait to see it as an adult.

I saw someone calling a P metallica, the "shiny blue tarantula".

    Who's molted today

My Poecilotheria strirata female moulted but haven’t been able to get the moult out of her cork bark tube yet. My Theraphosa stirmi sling is mid moult just now, but he has been since last night and I’m starting to worry it won’t be a successful moult.

Both of my Pterinochilus slings molted again. Happy with that.

My Lapropelma violaceopes molted, and it’s a female! I am so happy!

    Help Choosing a First Poecilotheria

I think you’re ready for a Poeci, going on the other species you already have.

    Three new additions

Brachypelma emilia Grammostola pulchra. Hapolopus triseriatus. Spent ages at the BTS expo looking for a G.pulchra that was bigger than a sling with no luck. Can’t tell you how excited I am to have found one! Wish list needs re-writing now lol.

What a difference the colour makes

I’d love to get some more OBT’s. I have one female at the moment, she’s the bright orange colour. Interesting how the same species can vary so much in colour.

    Help Choosing a First Poecilotheria

I have p.metallica, p.rufilata, p.strirata and p.miranda. I’d go for the P.metallica, for your first one, just because it’s so visually striking.

    Must have Ts?

I agree, everyone should have a Brachypelma albopilosum (Nicaragua) and a Cromatopelma cyanepubescens. I may be biased though, as those were the first two species I got. :) The one 'must have' old world, for me, is Lapropelma violaceopes.

    Moving on...

Any other Grammostola species or a Brachypelma species is likely to be docile, and not mind hands. Sorry for your loss.

    Dead tarantula or molt?

    Definitely a molt.
