You are very welcome. If it makes you feel any better, my sub-adult female g. Pulchripes has been in a burrow since January this year and has yet to make a reappearance.
Thank you!
No, this is the first time she’s ever done this with me. In the past she’s gone down in her burrow and just relaxed, but this time she actually closed it off. There is a tiny sliver at the top covered with a thin layer of web that I can still shine a light into to check and make...
Fortunate indeed, haha. I wonder if mine burrowing is her hibernating? Although she’s kept in a cabinet in our living room where we have a fireplace so she stays warm, so I’d be confused to say the least if she decided to hibernate… we’re going on 5 weeks now :/
I love my g. pulchripes. If you go with the C. versicolor definitely make sure there is enough ventilation. If one thing has been drilled into my head it’s avic’s and versi’s need ample ventilation. In hindsight I feel like that’s why I lost my a. avic as he was in one of those exo terra tanks.
Yeah I’m getting to the point that Reddit as a whole is starting to lose its appeal for me. The only thing keeping me around I think is the Stardew Valley subs. They are definitely less toxic than most of the others I’ve been on.
Thank you!!! Happy to be here :)
Ahhh so little!!! Mine was a little bit bigger at around 2-2.5” when I got her. Our girls look to be about the same size now. Wish mine hadn’t gone on a hunger strike for as long as she did cos I feel like it definitely stunted her growth…
Thank you thank you!!
I’m really glad to have found this forum. I have Tom Moran to thank for that. After the experience that left a bad taste in my mouth with that subreddit, I Googled “tarantula groups” and his blog post about this forum was one of the first results. :) I’m thrilled to be...
Thank you for such a warm welcome. I do hope she comes out soon, hahah.
To be honest, she wasn’t my first pick for a tarantula, but I’ve grown very fond of her. She’s never kicked hairs at me, but has attacked the tongs I use to get her water dish out of her enclosure. No attacking water yet...
