    G. rosea Breeding

Haven't been on here for a while; I've been crazy busy. Just wanted to update the progress. Both pairings are appearing to be negative. Athena decided she would molt a couple of weeks ago (the second time in 8months or so) and Artemis looks to be in premolt. No sacs this time around.

    A. avicularia Molts

Just had both my Avics molt up. The sling is now showing pink toes! It seems to be around the 4th or 5th molt where the pink toes show up. It still has the standard sling coloration, but with the addition of little pink tips to the toes. My sub-adult avic also molted into adulthood as a now...

I'm not a doctor or a nurse but I am in the medical field... Does that count?

Now that is a cool picture. Should've been submitted to the photo contest. I'd vote for it ;)

Mold in my cage so soon?

Glad it worked out for ya.

    Moulting Question

How big is it? If its a sling there is a possibility of it being in pre-molt again. If its an adult or sub-adult then I highly doubt it. Chances are that it's exoskeleton hasn't fully hardened and it's not ready to eat again yet.

    Enclosure size question

The stackable critter keepers would be easier, trust me. I have a split 5.5gal terrarium for my two adult (yet not full size) roseas. For now they are doing just fine, but it took quite a bit of effort to make it work right. I personally disagree with Kenny about the space issue, however. Both...

    question?

I'd also like to point out that while my A. avics naturally come from the Amazon, they are kept in the same condition as my G. roseas with the exception of a light misting twice a week.

    question?

60% is hardly desert conditions and the overwhelming majority of larger Ts can handle desert conditions just fine. A stagnant moldy terrarium will kill your T a lot faster than a slightly lower than average humidity. Granted the decision is up to you, I would just take in the advice and do a...

    Molt Difficulties?

If that's the T in question it isn't a MM.

    question?

Lose the towel, bro. Too dry is always better than too wet. Your guy will be able to handle it.

    Chilean Rose Communication??

He can probably sense her airborne pheromones and I'm sure she can hear or feel his tapping of the glass. Tarantulas are very sensitive to both chemical and vibration signals. It is unfortunate that your big guy won't be able to fulfill his life's goal before passing on...
