slings are scavengers most of the time. I never see most of mine. Due to a lung condition I cant have new worlds... and most old worlds hate being seen.

I was laughing my butt off reading this... Happened to me once as well. I saw the T folded up like a closed flower and thought it was dead. Reached in to move it and the actual T ran out of another den... scared the pee out of me... LMAO. I was looking at a molt. Fun times.

Came home to a den smelling like someone pooped in a corner... note to self, DO NOT put a Darkling Beetle in a cricket keeper with crickets.

At least its still alive. If the abdomen is a good size don't offer anymore food for a few weeks. Just put the enclosure somewhere with dim lighting.

This guy came outta no where. I didn't realize a superworm got away. These will kill Ts while they molt. I would have never known this Darkling was in the enclosure without seeing this. It pushed her out of hiding and she spent an hour or so wandering the enclosure... but I don't think she...

If someone is skilled enough to pinch hold her you can peel it off if she has hardened up. Just go slow. If the underside isnt off then her mouth and stomach isnt either, so there is no way she can live a year like that.

I was told by a fellow keeper his pet store gets "returned" Tarantulas that have mouth and fang injuries from kids poking them with stuff to see their fangs. They will attack and even kill pray but cant eat. Please keep us updated on this if you dont mind.

A buddy told me he doesnt feed his unless he sees it in an entrance hole. while they will come out to eat, the will sit at the entrance when they want food. this might be learned behavior or instinct.

cut up and pour out a few superworms into the water bowl so the T gets a food source with the water.
