US MM P gigas & N incei for local pickup: Augusta, GA

MM Pseudoclamoris gigas, matured 10/4/21 MM Neoholothele incei (olive), matured 10/1/21 I am located in Augusta, GA but willing to travel a bit to meet someone halfway. No cost; just want to see these two have an opportunity to fulfill their life's purpose if there are locals interested in...

Why did my curly hair sling die ????

At a glance, the enclosure appears to be very damp and have a lot of mold growth. I would suspect stuffy conditions may have led to the sudden death. I'm so sorry for your loss, but if you have any other tarantulas whose enclosures have gotten swampy, I'd be inclined to move them to a drier...

Opinions on enclosure size for adult arboreals

I went for homemade for the slings also. I think acrylic is great for short-term enclosures and the Ferrero Rocher boxes make great little arboreal sling enclosures. That's what these 4 are currently residing in. I'd estimate they are all around 2" DLS currently, and all are plump and due for a...

Opinions on enclosure size for adult arboreals

Thank you! If our collection continues to grow, we may end up looking into budget options, but with such a small collection I'm all about the 'pretty' enclosures currently.

Opinions on enclosure size for adult arboreals

Yes, thank you! This is exactly the kind of info I was looking for. Currently I am not finding the 12x12x18 at a good price, but I did find the nano tall at a good price and was thinking of buying a few.... I just didn't want to chance buying something that I will have to move every spider out...

Opinions on enclosure size for adult arboreals

I'm looking for opinions on which enclosure to invest in for 4 arboreals that have not yet reached maturity but will soon outgrow their current digs; a P gigas, T violaceus, C versicolor & P irminia. Right now I'm looking exo terra terrariums; would the 8 x 8 x 12 be sufficient or should I be...

    Questions about P irminia sling

Thanks. We left some prekilled prey in there this afternoon, right near where the primary entrance was behind the cork bark. I figure we will give it another 24 hours to make an appearance, or for the food to be disturbed. I know tarantulas can do odd things, but I do sort of fear the worst. I...

    Questions about P irminia sling

My teen daughter and I got a number of slings the beginning of September, including a 1/4" P irminia. We have been keeping adults and juveniles for a number of months, but are pretty new to slings, so we did a great deal of research about each species beforehand, and so far all are doing well...

I'm getting a Pseudoclamoris gigas sling next week, and just wanted to say that I thoroughly enjoyed all your photos and details about the first few months with Gillian.

Thoughts on what my G pulchripes is doing?

I can see her abdomen since she is on the wall at the moment and it looks smooth and like black velvet. I can't find any flaws on her anywhere. If she has any health issues they are not visible. Also, the shell is very weather worn and smooth, but not crumbling in any way and doesn't have any...

Thoughts on what my G pulchripes is doing?

Yikes, you don't suppose anything could be living in that shell after years and years do you? We cleaned it well first, but didn't bake it or anything.

Thoughts on what my G pulchripes is doing?

It's an old worm-eaten clamshell we found at the beach years ago. Isi is my technically my daughter's tarantula so she decorated the cage with things from her collection.
