we try to place the live cricket as close to the t as we can but usually if we just drop it into the container the t will go find it when it's hungry enough.
the cobalt blue is a stunning tarantula but it is for experts really + you will hardly ever seen it as it will just burrow away. as the above post says the b.smithi or a chllian rose are ideal for beginers as they are more docile & will be out & about more.we havent seen our cobalt for months.
our salmon pink sling has gone very bald.
its about 8-9 cm at the moment & a couple of weeks ago we moved it to a larger enclosure. it seemed fine had a wonder around, found its, coconut shell & sat on it as it did in smaller enclosure. then it moved on to a rock we put in, has been eating etc...
i agree the stress caused is the main thing to worry about . we dont really hold our ts, occasional my husband will slowly move them on to his hand inside the tank & then he can tidy round the tank , mist etc. we have one chilean rose who actually wants to come out , if you side the door open...
we havent really had a good look at him since the shed. just left him to recover, till his first fed , this eve or tomorrow. the skin was about 10 cm long & he looks to have grown but cant tell how much yet.
We havent realy had a chance to look at him .his pedipals yet as he shed. Turned upright and went and sat in the watet bowl.will have a proper look at him in a few days.
How old is a male before reaching maturity?
our fireleg blaze shed overnight & gave us our first intact molt. we had a go at sexing from a molt for the first time & we think he is male. there is no little flap. what do you think ? :)
