Yes, I am still missing Charlotte but I think Carmen is going to be a nice natured T. She doesn't mind me putting my hand in and I've only had her since Tuesday. I've got my eye on a nice Brazilian black. Might treat myself.
Thanks. I think she will be very pretty after a few moults when the pink colour will be stronger. She's in a bad mood at the moment with being moved about but she'll settle down after a couple of days. I will have to remember it's not Charlotte when I put my hand in or might get bitten...
Sadly, last Friday my lovely Charlotte died due to moulting difficulties. She was only 12 so I've been quite upset about it. Here is a pic of my new baby Mexican pink called Carmen that I've bought today.

Yes, I do think they know the difference even though they don't see too good. It continually amazes me how they have this ability to to distinguish this. Even though their eyesight is poor compared to ours, I know she watches me when when she at the front of the tank.

This was Charlotte last year before her traumatic moult looking a bit tatty and faded. Compare her to the profile pic, post moult where her colours are vibrant. It's a pity they have to fade over time.
Charlotte is 11 years old and I've had her for 6 years. I took her in when the previous owner didn't want her. After watching her over the years and the things she does I certainly see spiders in a different light. I definitely think they have some form of intelligence.
