    Emergency, stinging hairs on kitty!

Okay. I'll give it a try. I think washing the kitty made them get in deep. Yikes!

    Emergency, stinging hairs on kitty!

Too late. I washed him as well as I could, rinsed him with cups of water, and used a soft cloth to run over him, and wash his face. I had to keep rinsing and rinsing. My poor baby! Even though he was scared as hell, he was still being careful not to scratch me on accident. Washing him made my...

    Emergency, stinging hairs on kitty!

Okay. Thank you so much for your help. At least I know what to do now. I really do feel just awful. A little laundry and bathing is the least of my worries. I will get busy, and I sure won't make such a stupid mistake again! My poor kitty and tarantula!

    Emergency, stinging hairs on kitty!

I am so mad at myself! I messed up bad. I have been so distracted as my Grandfather is dying right now, and I have been a complete wreck over it. I must not have put the lid back on Blanche's tank correctly, and she decided to come out for a stroll. The problem is one of my kitties saw her...

    Caring for Dubia Roaches

Yes, Blanche is the only one who will eat the roaches. I suppose we could try them as fishing bait, though. ;)

    Caring for Dubia Roaches

I actually ended up feeding Blanche all the roaches I had, as her appetite had picked up, and once she was used to them, she devoured them. I had only bought a few, and they were tiny babies when I got them, so it probably would have taken a while to get them breeding. It was hard for me to keep...

    Pet Rock?

Now that we've had Blanche for a while, I feel like I know her personality a lot better, and she doesn't seem like a pet rock to me. She is actually pretty active, doesn't hide much, sometimes climbs her plants, and even likes to burrow. She has recently gotten over her shyness about eating in...

    Picky tarantula, or tricky roaches?

Thanks. I'm not really worried, so much as curious. Blanche is such a funny little lady. She is just so fun to watch. She is always surprising me by doing unexpected things, like one day she walked upside down across the top of her enclosure, or one day I watched as she dug a little hole, and...

    Picky tarantula, or tricky roaches?

Grammostola rosea, I believe. I offer food about every 10 days, but she doesn't always eat when I offer food. Usually I will offer a couple roaches first, but she normally doesn't eat them, so I give her crickets the next day.

    Picky tarantula, or tricky roaches?

I have been offering Blanche Dubia roaches for a while, but so far, she hasn't really gotten any, and I've ended up just giving her crickets instead. The Dubias like to get into one of her plants, or hide behind her water dish, so I kind of figured she just wasn't finding them. But her crickets...

    Blanche the taranche

    Thanks. She's a cutie.

    Caring for Dubia Roaches

Thanks. I wasn't sure about the cat food. I thought the dry food might be too hard for them. Maybe I'll look into that roach chow, too. I'll probably stick with the moss for their water. I already have plenty of it for my snakes, and they like to climb on it, and hide in it. It would be nice if...

    Blanche the taranche

I was actually looking for red runners when I ordered the Dubia roaches. No place wanted to ship to me at the time because of the terrible weather we were having. (And still are. I'm starting to doubt we'll even get a summer this year.) I may still order some in the future, but Blache seems to...

    Caring for Dubia Roaches

I bought some Dubia Roaches a while back, not realizing I accidentally bought the small ones. I have been trying to raise them until they are big enough to give my rose hair. They seem to be doing alright, and they are growing, but I thought I'd check in here to make sure I'm taking care of...
