    Second Question

Oh man, I read that as "Would it be safe to dish wash adult dubia roaches". I need more sleep.

Substrate looks about the right depth too. For the water bowl, I'd go for either of the larger ones. Whichever looks best.

I'd say you've done very well for your first enclosure. Looks very natural and authentic. I'd personally be tempted to remove one hide, as it just gives prey more places to hide. Should give her a bit more free space to stretch her legs too.

Or her adorable duty. But I want to meet the boyfriend first; and I want her back by 11.

I remembered seeing them all the time as a kid, scuttling up the brickwork at school. I hadn't seen any for about ten years, and I was desperate to get one. I very nearly bought one last week, but then found this little dude in my hallway at the weekend (never found one in my house in my...

They are! He was happily hopping around on my hands; being inquisitive and posing. Made sure he got a nice snack as a reward.

Hahaha don't worry! We're in the same boat. I would use a catch cup for a house spider too :p My mum is the same with snakes, but my dad powered me through that one. Couldn't own a nope rope though, my girlfriend would fear for the safety of our rodents. I don't have the heart to tell her that...

I mean now I'm constantly looking for spiders that I can help. I found a jumping spider in my hall at the weekend and was genuinely excited to get the little dude fed and looked after. Not sure I'd want a pissed off wandering spider coming out of my bananas though haha. I think a lot of...

Short answer, at least for past me, is that true spiders are often spindly. Ts are thicc. There's a weird innate fear of things with limbs that seem too long. Ts seem proportionally less scary. Also another theory is simply that you see true spiders frequently in nature, and people in most...

Also, don't be too worried. You clearly want the best for your new pet, and you've put in the research. You'll do just fine! For enclosures, you're safe with anything with a lid that you can't just push off with a light touch. Anything with the slightest resistance will stop your T escaping...

GBBs are very heavy webbers, and semi arboreal, so if webbing is something that triggers your phobia, they might be one to avoid. They can also be quite skittish, and have a fast prey response, so could make you jump. That being said, they're often docile, and are absolutely beautiful as...

    Who's molted today

I didn't expect to be posting in this thread so soon- wow! My little a.gen sling had his first moult in my care. His brother is a bit behind but will hopefully catch up and do the same soon. Proud dad moment. Couldn't be happier that his (and my first) moult all went well.

    Favorite or fantasy destination?

    Haha! That's a good, life-shortening choice actually.
