Hope I haven't started boring y'all already, but here is the little guy (or gal) having his 1st meal.
I murdered a small cricket and found it so hard to chop up with the tongs (didn't want to use my kitchen knives lol) I ended up chucking it in. He's going to disappear in his burrow after that meal
we never get bored of seeing Ts. and thankfulky you have taken what I call the "Jurassic Park"* method to feeding.
*I will explain.
The scene in the first film when they have a goat tied up for the T.Rex feeding. the comment was "T Rex doesn't want to be fed, she wants to hunt". Spiders are exactly the same.
General rule of thumb is offer live prey the size of the Ts abdomen. They are more than capable of dealing with live prey using that approach. As the T grows, so does the size of the prey. Only thing to watch out for when live prey is not eaten (especially ceickets) is to remove them after 24 hrs at the latest so they don't damage or stress out the spider.
Haha I'll try! Trouble is I haven't got anything small enough at the moment. But I am going to search for something tiny enough to give it on the internet.
