Swixter's Underside, Grammostola pulchripes spiderling

so much for being a terrestrial species! Swixter seems to prefer the side of the container! Look at those fangs! Awesome!

Yeah, a few days after her previous molt, one of my adult female Budwings (mantids) died, and I cut off the abdomen and put it in her container. Much to my surprise, she knew it was food. She crawled over to it, bent down and took it in her fangs, then carried it back into her "hide out". She took an entire day to consume the entire abdomen. After that she was quite fat. I think it's because she ate that entire thing, she was ready to molt again quite quickly. I'm sure not most people feed their tarantula something as big as a mantid's entire abdomen.
