Stupid question: consider me a newbie on true spiders: how likely is it that you could be bitten? Any troubles, say, changing its enclosure?

It is honestly very unlikely, you would have to pick up the spider and squeeze it to get it to bite. They will always choose to run away when they are disturbed, and they will only resort to a bite if they feel pain. They also can not climb up the sides of their enclosures so that makes them pretty easy to contain. With that being said when they do decide to bite there is a high chance that they will kill you. There venom takes effect very fast and it is hemolytic which means that it explodes your red blood cells preventing clotting. If you do decide to get one of these I would highly recommend that you do a lot of research and know exactly what you are getting yourself into. Regardless they are amazing spiders to watch and I highly recommend getting one if you feel that you are ready to do so and you’ve done your research.
