My B. boehmei was being brave today and out in the open getting a drink. First time I've seen one of mine drink from the dish.

Abdomen is getting the dark patch so a molt should be coming soon. My vagans is also showing the dark patch and turning glossy so I have 2 going into premolt. He won't come out from under the hide though for me to get a pic

LIttle bit late but i've been down for the last 4 days with a nasty cold virus that has wiped out half the office. Anway, here's the newest 3 :)

First is A. chalcodes, a 3"+ female. The packaging from KTBG gave us a worry, but if you look close in the center there's a piece of tape showing Ap. cha.

So then when we were removing the paper towels from this little plastic box the T popped his head and legs through and gave my son and i little start :) we weren't expecting a 3" T to be quite that big. The genic we have is almost 3" and a seems considerably smaller than this one.
20160126_125223[1].jpg

So now she's kind of cramped in a kritter keeper until we can switch her and the genic out tonight. She'll fit better in the 6"x6" enclosure. And the wench won't let me get a pic of her except her butt.
20160126_125507[1].jpg

Next is the itty bitty G. pulchripes. I gotta quit ordering them this small lol, but it was advertised as 1/2" on Jamies.
20160127_174735[1].jpg

He settled in his new home and burrowed out of site before i could get the Lemon Patch housed and get a pic. So i'll have to catch him in the open sometime and snap one.

Here's the Lemon Patch. I love the coloring on these as much, if not more maybe, than the GBB. :D This one does look like the 1/2-3/4" as advertised.

She didn't move when unwrapped so fearing the cold weather shipping had finally gotten to me i prodded her a bit with a make up brush and she was gone! lol these are much much faster than any T we have. Going to be so much fun raising this one!! :D

Haven't updated in a while cause nothing new is happening. Other than molts but those I put in the molt thread.

While feeding tonight the rosea made an escape attempt. Was fun holding the little girl to get her back in her home.

My son had a rare opportunity to hold his GBB again. We rehoused her to a new larger enclosure. It was like she wanted to move. She calmly climbed up the side and onto my son's hand. She spent the whole time I was prepping the new home sitting on my son's wrist like she used to.

It wasn't until she was out of the enclosure in good light we noticed she's in premolt.

Here's her new home.

She's busy webbing the top of the leaves to the walls making herself at home.

Marley the GBB molted yesterday.

Here's his new threads
20160211_182429.jpg

He's about 2 inches now.

Marley molted this morning between my son leaving for school and lunch.
20160211_173232.jpg

And I had to replace the cork bark hide for the G. pulchripes. Found a spot of mold on the edge. When u removed it there was more on the bottom from overflowing the water dish. Had to remove Bling and fix the enclosure. Got to hold him in the process. He'd didn't want to go in the catch cup and run onto my hand instead.

Bling's new home.

And Bling in the new home after a bit more running on my hand. He seems to enjoy that.

Ain't he a monster?! Lol a whole 1/4" big.

Enclosure is easy to big for him but I'm waiting for the idiots at the container store to ship me my little ones.

Found mites in the B. vagans enclosure tonight during feeding and watering. He was buried deep and wasn't happy about being removed.

Rehoused him. He buries everything in his home so I just made a starter burrow with my finger and put in a water dish.

Haven't actual seen him to see his color in months.

My 7 legged friend after his last molt. He devoured 2 large lateralis for my son this afternoon after he emerged.

During daily maintenance the versicolor came out to play also. I never intentionally handle the Ts but I can't resist them when they're tiny like this.

This is more for my reference as i'm adding amac containers to my shopping cart online :)
Ordering tomorrow one of each to fill out my wish list, at least until a G. pulchra becomes available:
  • B. smithi - 1/2"
  • A. seemanni - 1"
  • GBB - 3/4-1"
  • B. baumgarteni 1/2-3/4
Undecided between A. purpurea and A. sp. Peru Purple.

Pics will be posted when they arrive of course ;)

Filled water dishes tonight and had 2 Ts come out and say hi.
G. pulchripes my tiny little 1/4 of awesomeness
FullSizeRender.jpg

I couldn't get my phone to focus on him even with super zoom. I'm impressed on the quality of the iPhone pics.

Marley the GBB made a mad dash for freedom them sat calmly on the edge and onto my son's hand. Then wandered around.
20160219_190619.jpg

She even let me hold her for a few seconds. She walks a lot like an Avic raising her front 2 legs like they do.

Guess she just wanted out to take a big **** on my son's arm but he won't let me take a pic of that lol. After she did she stated walking back to the enclosure. Did her duty and was time to go back home lol

Awesome story. Too bad you couldn't keep the first one. The legs would have regenerated in a couple kilts. Also GBBs I've hear are quite jumpy am more skittish than other specimens such as the B smithi.

We have 19 T's now. Used to be 20 but my son sold his B. ablo to his good friend so his friend now has a "starter" T as they called it :)
I have no interest in true spiders, i'm still a bit scared of them to be honest, but not nearly as much as i was before :) Maybe in the future.

I have been looking at at the Amblypygi but i'm not ready to order one yet does that count as a true spider or a scorpion?
