Curious I've been feeding my OBT every three of four days. He usually goes out of his burrow and I assume it means he's hungry. Anyways... He takes all food and drags in his burrow. I wonder if I stop feeding so often he will build more Web to catch food. I got him since I heard they are notorious web builders but haven't seen much in the way of Web building except for a thin layer holding the tunnel together ... If I'm feeding him too much?

All are the same size 4.5-5" I prefer to keep them semi arboreal. I dont think they care either way.

That is fascinating. All that just from the way they are set up? Mine was in a 5 gallon cube, so about half way between your two examples, and the webbing was about half way between your two extremes. I didn't realize that the type of set up they are in would have such a profound effect.

It's a good theory, the sort of experiment I'd like to read about in a paper from a University student. It looks like its already been busted though, it seems the environment is a bigger factor than food but it would be a good thesis.

OK so this is the setup.

How would I go about safely. Taking out some Substrate if the spider never comes out of The burrow? If it doesn't have substrate it can't burrow.. But it goes down the hole. Whenever I'm. Around

I'd just wait until you need to do your next rehouse, then make te appropriate changes then. OBTs grow quite fast so it shouldn't take to long.

If your not rehousing you'll probably have to put the T in a catch cup, and go from there.
Take your time and make sure you know were the T's tunnel is and carefully dig it out, place the T in a safe and secure container then remove what you need to mate.
