Have you noticed that when a Tarantula gets to old age it looses it's ability to climb on smooth surfaces?

My LP is dying of old age.... I bought him as a sling Dec 2014 and his mature molt was 9/18/2016. He has been very grumpy, just killing food and let them die. He can barely move and his abdomen is small now. Even though he did eat one cricket the last time. :(

My MM LP lived 14 months after his ultimate moult and spent most of that time trying to climb the glass but failing.

He gave up on the glass quicker than my mature male G. pulchripes. Now my G. pulchripes gave that up but hesh still eating and doing good. His mature molt was 5/15/2017. I bought him the same time as the LP. They we're so tiny then!
