So I didn't get a pic or video unfortunately, but I paired up my E.murinus last night, and I'm fairly certain there was a successful insertion, so hopefully I'm right.

She's beautiful! Still holding off on the pokies but I have no idea why...gorgeous.

Have you kept any Psalmos or Tappys yet? If not I'd recommend going with those first just to get you used to the speed. Pokies are not normally defensive tarantulas, they are much more skittish than anything else and 9 times out of 10 prefer flight over fight. As you may know, Psalmos are actually a lot more defensive and willing to bite than most pokies are. The biggest factor with pokies is their venom, it's very fortunate for us that they are so hesitant to use it. P ornata is considered more high-strung however than the rest, and their venom (based off of all the bite reports I've read) seems a tad more powerful than say regalis. So I think regalis, or if you can afford one, metallica or subfusca while still nervous, tend to be more laid-back than ornata. The crazy thing is I don't even think this girl is full size just yet. She's about 8 or so inches in legspan, so she could be, but seeing as these can sometimes exceed 9 inches, she could potentially get a lil bigger.

Love psalmos, have at present a juvinile pcam and a couple of irminia slings. My favorite T's so far. Also have O violaceopes, It's extremely skittish. Growing like a weed and always hungry, quick to throw a pose but it runs off. I'm extremely careful with rehousing these guys and other then my one A avic I don't care to handle. My enjoyment comes from sitting sipping my coffee and watching them be spiders. :) if I do venture into getting a pokie I am going to go with a sling, so I can get used to its particular temperament and reactions. I actually like the look of the P regalis, love the markings.

I don't by the way instigate handling the avic, she sneaks over when I'm cleaning her enclosure and will leap to my arm then immediately start grooming.
I know I could stop her but it amuses me. And she is my special T so I tend to allow her liberty
.

L. Violaceopes is more of a handful to deal with than any pokie IMO lol

That particular T is a little crazy, and if I'm honest I really like it, fingers crossed for a female. Thanks Chubbs, Think I'm going to keep my eyes open for a low priced sling :)
