my fiance and I just got a tiny male rose hair tarantula. he's very shy but friendly and doesn't seem to be eating at all for the past few days. I put a few crickets in the cage but no luck.

Perfectly normal. A lot of times a rose can go up to a year without eating. Just offer 1 cricket a week, and remove the cricket if not eaten in 24 hours.

Nice looking Tarantula! Sounds like normal behavior so far. Keep in mind he may also be adjusting to the new home
