Avic Avicularia Doesn't Eat for 4 Months! Why!

I got my Avic for Christmas 2 years ago and it had been developing normally. I offered food twice a week and removed prey from the cage if it wasn't hungry. I suspected it was a male when I did research on the species and how they behaved when maturity was reached. I still would offer it food once every week to see if it would eat and after 4 months it has finally eaten! Can someone enlighten me to why it has taken this long for him/her to eat? Thanks in advance.

could be anything, not happy with his enclosure, not hungry, premolt, doesn't like that food type anymore, etc. etc.

All that kormath said, + maybe mature male or old age (Avic don't live that long)...
