Acanthoscurria brocklehursti?

I rescued this big girl from someone giving her away on craiglist. I think she is a Acanthoscurria brocklehurstim or Acanthoscurria insubtilis any thoughts??

Just a guess, but here's your spider. It's probably an Acanoscurria, but the species is muscula not geniculata.

It's hard to guess from a pic of course but I give it an 55% chance of being A muscola.


A Lasiodora will hit prey items like a freight train. Acanoscurria will hit it like one at full speed. Both will attack water as it's poured into the dish and feeding tongs.

Lasiodora species are calm but not handleable because they think everything is food, including your fingers.

Neither burrows much. Both groups are totally awesome. Acanoscurria get big. Lasiodora gets even bigger but is probably a bit calmer.
