I was given a large piece of .080" acrylic that was going to a neighbors trash container. Always used .220" acrylic on past enclosures, but decided to give the thin stuff a go anyway. Well, it came out fine, not display quality, the doors at the latch side needed some reinforcement with extruded aluminum. The tubes are recycled plastic that were split, roughed up inside and out, epoxied together and eco earth glued to the outside.
Will be future homes to my ???
These measure 7"X7"X14" with nearly 4" of substrate. Just need water dishes and 2 Ts to complete the packages. [emoji6]

Thanks.

I build them in my spare time well ahead of needing to transfer a T in them. Just started 2 more using .220" acrylic for my P. cambridgei after their next molt.

The bits are HSS with 3 flutes I picked up at at a industrial supply store.
Saw blade is 10" 3/16" curf with 160 teeth, I think from menards.
Hinges are brass pre drilled from Lowes, comes 4 in a pack, 1"X5/8".
I use a 20 minute set time 2 part epoxy made for plastic by locktite, available at most DIY centers.
Acrylic is from wherever its cheapest or someone has some to discard, like my last 2.
I do suggest if you plan on making any to use .220" thickness acrylic, warpage is nearly nonexistent and squares up much better.
Below is one, sans hardware, of .220" I just finished today, measuring 6"X6"X12". [emoji4]
Yes, its upside down. [emoji6]

A different hardware store is likely not going to have much better prices, unless you buy large amounts. Acrylic and plexi glass are not cheap in general

Today these became homes to my P. cambridgei. Took nearly 4 hours for them to leave the 16 oz. cups and into the new mansions. Lol!
They should be quite comfortable in these for many, many months to come. [emoji3]

For sure they will be more happier after accumulation... Their mansions has lot of space for them to roam around and later on they will start webbing...
