    T-Stirmi Troubles

I appreciate that man. I was only using the heat lamp at night because I'd usually turn the heat off in my room as I have a really difficult time sleeping in a hot room. As for the substrate I actually switched it out a few days before she passed, I used a mix of shredded coconut husk and...

    T-Stirmi Troubles

It wasn't on all the time, only at nights when the temp drops, cage never got over 80 degrees even with the lamp being on, and the lamp only covered about 1/3 of her cage. During the day I'd keep the heater on to keep the room around 75 degrees. As far as the substrate goes, I completely cleaned...

    T-Stirmi Troubles

Hey guys, you can disregard my last post, she's gone.. I really have no idea what happened, she always had water, I misted her cage 2-3x a day to maintain humidity, tried feeding her 1-2 times per week, though the past 3-4 weeks she didn't appear to be eating, but she was still drinking.. I'm...

    T-Stirmi Troubles

Well, I think she's either dying or about to molt.. She's been in the corner of her cage for 12 hours under the heat lamp, her legs are slightly tucked but when I tried to move her a few minutes ago she tried to kick hairs at me.. She does have a clear fluid on a couple of her joints which I've...

    T-Stirmi Troubles

Hey Guys, Thanks for the input, I'll take a picture of her whole enclosure today when I get home from work, regarding the woodchips, when I initially setup her enclosure I got a big bag of repitsoil, along with another bag of soil from the pet store and I mixed them together in a 5 gallon...

    T-Stirmi Troubles

Hey guys, My T-Stirmi doesn't appear to be doing well, her rear left leg looks like it's been injured, it's pointing inwards at a rather strange angle, it looks like she may have fallen when she was roaming around her enclosure and injured it. I'll include a couple of pictures below. I tried...

    Urticating hairs..

Thanks for the input man! I thought about trying the duct tape but I wasn't sure how well that would really work which is why I figured the warm water might be my best bet. Though I know there are a LOT of Stirmi owners on here so I figured someone might be able to suggest the best course of...

    Urticating hairs..

Hey guys, Per the title, I got a bit complacent with my T-Stirmi, I was trying to pull her water bowl out so I could give it a good cleaning and refill it and she started kicking hairs like mad, so I decided to wait it out for a bit to allow any of the hairs she kicked to settle before pulling...

If I bug bomb in my basement…

I wouldn't risk it personally, if the vapor from those gets into your vents it can be carried throughout the house. I'd probably keep your T out of the house for a few days if you're going to bug bomb it.

Can I 'feed' the same worm to two tarantulas

As the others have said, your best bet is to just discard it, worms are what, a couple of cents a pop, it's not worth the potential risk.

Not what I want to find in my garden!

Exactly, how they could try to insinuate that it's not someone's pet baffles me, I would love to know how they would try to explain it's presence.. You don't have tarantulas in the UK lol, not only that, it's next to impossible that it hitched a ride in some cargo from Africa and just happened...

    Couple of T-Stirmi Questions

Thanks for the info man, I appreciate it! I actually had one of those moisture meters, but it broke a while ago so I have a small one that you can stick to the side of the cage but as you mentioned they're not overly accurate/precise so I definitely want to get a new one. Being in Seattle the...

    Couple of T-Stirmi Questions

Hey guys, I have a couple of quick questions regarding my female T-Stirmi, this is the first T-Stirmi that I've owned, the tarantulas I had when I was younger were a red knee and a striped knee so the care was a bit different. With that out of the way, to the questions! To the T-Stirmi owners...
