It can by that way, but accurately when the T's are bigger. But it is still more accurately done after a molt..

I am going to say what was said to me,P.Metallica's are undoubtedly one of the most difficult to sex ventrally. From my own experience but I don't have many of them,I found this to be true so far. The people that have said this,breed them and have been doing so for years. These people have been actively involved with Poecilotheria, I would say wait for a molt and get a handheld microscope to set your mind at ease. Also,I know how it feels to wait to find out and can understand where you are coming from with your question hence that's why I bought my microscope.

Try get a clearer pic from underneath. P.metallica are one of the easiest pokies to sex ventrally as long as the pic is clear. Try getting it on a flat piece of glass rather than curved plastic.
