Enzo: 4th grade student (churched up: studying hard to be a valuable member of society, Joe Dirted: spend all his time talking to mates and his teachers about tarantulas).
Vincent: Audiovisual Specialist (churched up: computer genius, Joe Dirted: I plug your HDMI to put your PPT on screen and give you the WiFi password).

I was a secondary school teacher for 10 years. Tattoos, piercings, and bizarre pets (skunks and snakes at the time) meant my face didn't fit so I was *encouraged* to move onto the point of giving my notice. The last words the headteacher said to me were "Thankyou" after receiving my letter of resignation. He called social services after my resignation (my kids who were sill attending the school were apparently smelly because we had skunks in the house - skunks that don't smell) but suffice to say it wasn't a nice time, especially when he wrote me a letter suggesting that my personal hygiene wasn't up to a satisfactory standard so I wouldn't be welcome visiting the school I had taught in, while my kids were still there. I encouraged my daughters to have facial piercings just to piss him off. The visiting social worker loved our pets, especially the skunks so we got a glowing report from her.

Since then I've done voluntary youth work and then I've worked for The Exotic Pet Refuge in Deeping St James, but unfortunately illness has meant I've had to stop all of these things. I'm doing a bit of home schooling for my daughter's step children until I can do more voluntary work.

I'm available for supermarket critiques and drink reviews. Pay for the drink and you'll be guaranteed a fantastic review.

Too much? Sorry, but I'm a frustrated ex teacher and like writing!

Oh this is a cool question!

I’m a grant writer for a human services nonprofit in San Francisco (though I live in the East Bay, because nonprofit salary).

I do have an MFA in Poetry but most of my writing gets channeled into work these days. I’ve taught community college English, waited tables, all manner of odd jobs (cold calling for phone surveys, pet sitting, my friend’s mom’s seamstress shop...).

Most unusual job was a summer during grad school walking racehorses to cool them down after their morning practice runs. The racing industry is terrible, but being around horses is amazing.

I'm a Preventative Maintence writer for a cabinet manufacturer. Boring! It's about 75% desk time withe other 25% taking equipment pictures.

I moved into this position to try and care for myself in a physical manner. 3 bad disc, degenerative disc disease, and heavy arthritis. I'm bored with the lack of physical activity . Pay is way better but the sit down time is killing me. I guess things are supposed to get easy the older you are. Thin line between easier and boring.....
