What is my Tarantula Sling?

I found this sling in Sunflower Arizona almost a year ago and im still having trouble trying to find out what he might be. Someone have any suggestions?

Too early to tell, guessing some sort of Aphonopelma, but after the sling molts a few times, only then will it be possible to determine the species.

I agree with @PanzoN88 . Almost all NW terrestrials look the same until they start showing colours. At this point it's anyones guess. But looking at location I would guess some kind of Aphonopelma species.

Looking through the taxonomic revision of Aphonopelma that was done a few years ago, the only time Sunflower is mentioned is as a collection site for Aphonopelma chalcodes. Of course that is no guarantee that is what this spider is but if I had to make a guess.......
Perhaps try contacting Chris Hamilton or Brent Hendrixson. They may be able to help you a bit more but given it is a spiderling I wouldn't get my hopes up unless they can confirm chalcodes is the only species found in that area.

I have an Aphonopelma chalcodes sling that looks exactly like the pics you posted... FWIW
