Thought it might be helpful to put together a list of tools we use for our T's for maintenance etc.

I have 2 sets of tongs for picking out bolus and general maintenance, one straight tip and one angled.

Points are a bit sharper than i'd like, just have to be extra cautious ;)

I use make up brushes for testing temperament and guiding the T's around, these are short handled so they fit in almost all of my enclosures. Handy for knocking a roach off the top of the inside of the hide also ;) I see these youtube vids with the cheap paintbrushes with the thick generic bristles and wonder why people use them, i couldn't stand to be prodded by those lol

mascara brush is nice for the B. albo's hairs too :p

And then the 5.5 oz catch cups for feeding, catching slings, holding bolus and poop as i clean, etc...

May work great for sling enclosure for those that like to use deli cups. They're the same diameter as the 4oz just taller.

Substrate work i just use a tablespoon from the kitchen, not the measuring spoon kind, the large cereal spoon ;)

Gloves i use for substrate work are the thicker yellow kitchen gloves. I've never had the urticating hairs penetrate these yet. i'm told the basic disposable latex gloves the hairs will go right through.

I have a curved pair like the ones you posted but only about 5" long. Super pointy so I use that and a bamboo skewer I sanded down into a small but dull point.
What else works is those flexible plastic toothpicks. ^.~

I think thats it, apart from disposable gloves when changing substrate. Ive never had problems with hairs piercing them...yet. I will keep the washing up gloves in mind though just in case [emoji1]

i haven't tried the disposable latex/nitril gloves myself, Just read that anything under 3mil can be penetrated by the hairs, i'm guessing that's adult hairs. Sling hairs don't bother me at all, too small i think.

Forgot my spray bottle :) a basic Dollar Store special with a twist tip to adjust stream or spray.
Similar to this bottle in shape, makes it easier to pour into the larger water dishes without making a mess.

All the above including drinking straws, but I do slide 2 straws together and use them as a long divice to test temperament and coaxing of some of the pokies and other "evil" Ts. Also, I have a headband style camping light that has normal led and red led lights. Lastly I use regular bottled water bottles with a hole punched into the lid to water the larger bowls and a Gatorade bottle with many lid holes to simulate rain. Lastly for slings' tiny water bowls, I have a syringe for filling them with precision.
Every, and I do mean every, thing I eat and drink that is made out of plastic, gets cut and used for water dishes. Every water bottle, Gatorade bottle, soda bottle lid is used. Yogurt and pudding and Mac n cheese cups, etc are cleaned, trimmed, and used as well. We all know it's cleaner to replace nasty used water dishes, and between my girls and I, I will always have a non stop variety of shapes and sizes.
Sorry so long
