Do you also blame cars when a drunk kills a family of four? The 2nd amendment doesn't anyone the right to commit mass murder, just like the first doesn't give anyone the right to incite violence. The whole point of the constitution is to provide the willing individual the opportunity to maintain their sovereignty against a tyrant and bandits. You shouldn't blame guns because some people don't understand that your rights are my responsibility. So we should all take responsibility for these negligent people and force them to pay the price for their mistakes. It's already hard enough to get a gun legally let alone have the peace of mind to know when it's appropriate to use said tool. Which is all it is. A tool of self defense.

Killing people is illegal. People who disregard laws written on a piece of paper against murdering innocent people are also going to ignore laws against keeping or using certain scary looking guns. These laws only disarm the law abiding. The good guys. The guys who if they were allowed to have a gun with them, would STOP the bad guys from committing their heinous acts, as happens here 2.5-3million times a year. So why advocate for disarming the good guys? See post number one of this thread.

When someone murders with a hammer, knife, car, poison, etc..., Do you also want to "control" those items? What about sticks and stones? Literally. I can pick up a rock and murder someone if I was a criminal and decided to ignore the law and any sense of right or wrong. Should we ban "assault rocks"? Humans have been murdering each other since the dawn of time. No one will ever stop it. All that we can do, which is what was originally done in this country, is to allow the good guys, who FAR outnumber the bad guys, to have the means to stop the bad guys.

I've been asked, "Why do you carry a gun?" I answered, "Because police officers are too heavy". Or, "Why do you have a gun in your house? Are you planning on shooting someone?" My answer: "Why do you have a fire extinguisher in your house? Are you panning on setting it on fire?" Here's another favorite: When seconds count, the police are only minutes away.

So to answer your question: No. Controlling inanimate objects is a pointless waste of time. It does harm to innocents and takes resources away from dealing with the actual problem which is lawless, violent, or insane people at large in our societies. In other words, its not the object doing the murdering, its the human holding it. Focus on the problem, not the tool, if you want to stop murder.

I'm going to leave a small comment here so I can keep up to date with this thread.

I'm sure I'm "not going to understand" as I'm not American but what is the obsession with your amendments? (Btw they've changed many times). And I personally don't agree with guns being so freely available (my opinion) they cause more issues than they prevent.

Can someone educate me?

Its not an obsession, really, its a way of life. And truthfully, no, you probably wouldn't understand. Our Constitution and the Amendments to it are what protects our rights as free people. The second Amendment protects our right to keep and bear arms against a tyranical government. Like yours. We don't believe government should have any say at all about certain inherant rights, as free people. The right to defend yourself, your home, your loved ones, is a given in this country. In your country, if you kill a burglar, you'll do time. The right to express yourself, your opinions, that is a basic right, here, while in your country, they tell you what you can and cant say. Americans would never live like that. Thats why we stomped your asses and threw you out of our country. No offense, I'm kind of an Anglophile, myself, and I know many Brits that I like, but I wouldn't live in your country, because your government, and the concept of royalty, disgusts me. Sorry, but the Royal Family are hated and despised in the UK. They are seen as Parasites by a vast majority of our own people (I am one of the many).
They serve no purpose what so ever anymore to the UK apart from draining it`s money and resources to keep them in their own lavish lifestyle at the Tax Payers expense.
Treason has been committed in the UK by our very own Prime minister and dear old Liz (queen) has done sweet FA about it. Useless Woman attached to a Parasitic Family.
Our Queen of England refers to the people of the UK as Cretins, scum and Peasants (this has been well documented) , yet there have been many cover ups made for the Royal Family over the years , serious crimes have been committed by them and they have got away with it every time.
