Hello,

My name is Brandon and I live in Colorado. I have always been kinda dismissive towards keeping spiders, always thought “what’s the big deal. Its a spider, it crawls, it’s eats.” That was until I started keeping 2 jumpers a couple months ago. These couple months of watching and caring these little dudes has really shown me I was wrong and peaked my interest in keeping other critters, especially the small ones, I don’t know why but tinier the better in my eyes. Anyways, I was at the reptile store last night and I noticed they happen to have some Dwarf Pink Legs and after a conversation about it I decided to go for it. I am now the proud owner of a vial with a half inch tarantula inside of it (if anyone has any advice on how to move it from the vial into the sling crib I would be forever grateful lol)

Welcome to the hobby and the forum! I am also fairly new its a very addictive hobby and for me very rewarding watching slings grow. I am up to 12 species now. was a 14 but lost some slings. Good Luck in many more years of collecting!

Hello welcome! I am pretty new but one of my favourite spiders is my smallest sling. I just take the cap off and hold it over the new enclosure while everything is on the floor so no falls or in a tub so less escapes. Plastic tweezers to gently remove substrate and paint brush to gently encourage. I have mine in I guess what they call deli cups of different sizes but i melted ventilation holes. Some of mine don’t like live prey so I feed them cricket drum sticks. I have tiny water bowls which are either tattoo ink cups or the bottom of covid tubes. Happy keeping.

Success. Was definitely a lot easier than I thought it was going to be lol. Since they decided to hangout for a few before going into the hole I thought you guys might enjoy some baby photos.

Is that K brunnipes? What a gorgeous little thing.

Yeah taking them out the vials is usually easier than you expect!! I like to get a big plastic box to do it in so if they happen to bolt, they're still contained in a box and easier to catch.

Your new ones might take a little while to settle. As far as feeding after a rehouse I have fed some Ts right after and have ate. It doesn't hurt to try. They don't eat remove the prey item give it a day let em set up shop and repeat. Main thing is try to enjoy and chill. Lol BTW I have unboxed Ts and fed them. Be surprised how hungry they can be coming from the dealers.
