Hey! I was wondering what you do when you have way too much substrate and/or moss left after you've moistened it? Do you just put them in a plastic bag? Or do you throw it away?

I let it dry then put it in a container. When there is a need to use it again, I bake it then moisten it again.

I have experienced keeping it for future use with other nasties habituated it.

Dry it out and store it in a plastic bin. It usually doesn't sit too long.

I have several bins with various substrate mixtures around. It makes it more convenient if when I have to put together a new enclosure.

I used mine to fill up an XL Herp Haven that I use as a microclimate. That way I can maintain humidity levels for my spiders without disturbing them by opening their enclosures.
