Sex this 2cm moult!

Mainly just for opinions I’m not expecting a definitive answer, as you can see the moult I tried sexing with my new macro toy is extremely small!

What are everyone’s thoughts, what do you see??? Go!

Looks to be female from the photo...I prefer to use my microscope when they are that small. I'd say suspect female for sure.

I hadn’t thought of a microscope to be honest, this was my first time testing the lens and luckily there was a fresh moult waiting

This is the smallest sling I have been able to sex using my 80X dissecting microscope. The thing paid for itself within a week of arriving.

Unfolding the skin is a nightmare though. I bought some magnifying glasses like the ones used by watchmakers, they help but it’s fiddly work.

Fine pins and polystyrene works well to hold in place

I haven’t used polystyrene, might try it. The only problem with it is that I need it to be under lit on the microscope. I cut a Perspex slide for use with the miscroscope and the water tension holds the skin in place when they are that small.
