I purchased my G. pulchra about 2 weeks ago. Have offered a hornworm twice. Abdomen has continued to shrink. Shows not only no interest. But tends to (for lack of a better description) go "EW. Tf is this?" And walks it's prissy ass off. I have NO IDEA what it's breeder fed it. GO FIGURE. THE ONE QUESTION I DIDN'T ASK. Maybe crickets? Or should I just wait? It's a juvenile.

Hornworms sometimes not the best. I have some Ts that seem to not want Dubia roaches but will slam crickets, mealworms etc. I like getting soldier fly larvae and let them turn into flies. They get in and beat those wings the T's go crazy. Their great for smaller T's like slings and juvies!

The best food I have found for a feeding response, are crickets. I kept Dubias for a while, but many of my T's were just not interested in them. I feed all of my slings beheaded mealworms, with an occasional Morioworm. And all of my larger T's crickets of an appropriate size.

With crickets I have found with some T's.I need to keep the cricket size smaller, as anything larger stops the feeding response.

When's the last time it molted?

I have an avicularia Avicularia that eats (only) crickets about half the size it should. Any else she kills and leaves. Talk about compulsive!

I have a GBB that for longest time after I got her would only eat crickets. I'm stead of Dubai's that I feed all my others. Pain in the rear having to go get special food for her. Finally I got more bull headed than her and didn't give in now she eats Dubai's just fine.

I’ve done that with others but this lil pink toe is a rescue. Someone outside pets mart gave her to me. She was in a critter keeper, on coco bark, no hide, had old molt on her leg (which she lost one her one molt with me). I think she had undergone some serious stress and don’t want to push her too much. I’m going to wait for her next molt and hope she gets a little bolder. She is a juvenile…

Sounds like you rescued her. I bought most mine off of Craigslist and it's appalling the conditions that people keep their tarantulas in I kind of feel that I rescued the ones I got. It was mostly people that have grown bored with them and getting out of the hobby.

It really annoys me ( I choose kindness today and don’t say anything more) when people get bored and neglect instead of taking care of them until they can find them new homes. (Choosing kindness….)
