Ornithoctonus sp. "Ranong Blue-violet Earth Tiger"

BEAUTIFUL VELVET BLACK WITH GOLDEN FRINGED CARAPACE GOLDEN BLUSHINGS ON THE SIDE OF THE LEGS AND AMAZING BLUE-VIOLET CHELICERAE, PEDIPALPS AND LEG 1.
NEW to the U.S. hobby in Feb. 2023! Not much is known about this species currently. This beautiful species appears black overall with blue-violet colored chelicerae, pedipalps, and legs 1 post-molt especially seen in natural sunlight. They have a light gold fringe of hairs around the carapace and along the sides of legs 1 and 2 similar to Ornithoctonus aureotibialis. They look a lot like O. aureotibialis, but instead of the lighter grayish-black abdomen, they have a velvety, jet black abdomen. This might a locality variant of O. aureotibialis OR a new species in the family Ornithoctoninae. Imported size has been around 2.75" to 3.5" juveniles/sub-adults. It will be very interesting to see what these beauties look like full-grown and what their maximum leg span will be. We suspect 5" or so
