Nervous baby

I feel so bad, I noticed she was climbing the walls a lot (it was shortly after I moved something next to her enclosure by accident so she had a little nervous breakdown) and she's been settling in and finally using her hides and stuff but I noticed when she climbs I had one of her hides in the corner of the wall and she kept falling on it and I didn't want her to hurt herself by falling on a hard object so I opened her enclusre to move it and she panicked and started running around and for some reason she didn't realize one of her hides was right next to her so she started digging and then hid behind her legs. She looks so scared I feel so bad for scaring her, I really don't move her enclosure unless it's feeding time but she's always so scared when I do and she bolts. I added more substrate to the corners as well, hopefully I didn't bother her too much. My poor girl :( I love her so much it makes me emotional and one of the reasons I picked a tarantula is to not be as emotionally attached lol

It easy to get emotionally attached. Some of mine are like yup. Apples of my eye. I got a new one yesterday and she was smaller than I thought so I tried to rehouse a bigger one, that one wasn’t happy and went straight back in the old tub. The new one went in a hastily thrown together braplast tub with an apology worm. I spent all afternoon apologising to two spiders! If they’re hungry I find a small worm or cricket can soothe an annoyed Tarantula and make me feel less of a prat.

That's so cute! So usually when they're skittish they're hungry? She's not always this panicked. I've been looking into giving her dubia roaches because these crickets piss me off lol

Some of mine love mealworms. I don't know if you’ve tried those. Roaches are tough as they play dead and the spider can miss them. I did try Dubia roaches but maybe i got ones that were too big. Only my A Gen seemed to fancy them. I still have one in the cupboard in a tub who I call Reggie the Roach.

That's cute, he was spared :) haha I'll try the mealworms! I'm just worried they'll start burrowing and I won't see them. Usually I watch her eat until I make sure she gets her food
