Need advice

I’ve never used top soil as part of my substrate mix before. I decided to take the plunge and got earthgro topsoil as shown by several people to be a good safe bet.
HOWEVER it smells like manure. I’m not confident about using this if it has poop in it. Is it ok or nay??

One of my previous jobs was working as a truck (Heavy Goods Vehicle), driver. And I spent more than a few days driving tippers moving soil from site to site & that included topsoil from construction sites to locations that sold or needed topsoil & personally, I would not use topsoil, unless I knew where it came from.

I have moved soil from industrial sites to be sold as topsoil. As all topsoil means is. It is the uppermost layer of soil. It is no guarantee of quality, as some topsoils are of very poor quality & it is no guarantee that you want that soil from that location in your garden or tarantula enclosure.

I really appreciate the answer! I won’t use it then and will stay with reptisoil to mix up. I can use the bag to fill a hole in my yard instead. Didn’t think anything that smelled like **** should be in my tank! Thanks again!
