If you have a mature male you can drop food in near the web or leave in to see if it comes out later to eat. If your spood is a Juvie the prey item should be removed sometime within a 24hr. period in case your spider molts!

Normal, when the sling is ready to eat it will come out. If you are worried, put a pre-killed cricket in front of the web.

Thanks, in my case hes a sling, so it should be treated like a juvie right?
As the food goes yeah, remove any uneaten prey 24 hrs or sooner IMHO if it's a sling. Slings refuse food for only a few reasons, pre molt, prey item intimidates too large, post molt but this is usually a very short time with slings and the last and worst is they are not doing well. Most slings I have lost is usually after a molt. If it's been 2 or 3 days and a sling won't eat a prey item it's already tackled that's a terrible sign in my experience. Most times they perish. Such is raising slings! If you start raising loads of slings you will lose some. I don't never accept this well and I will still blame myself though I know I shouldn't as any long time keepers will tell you slings can die even if everything is perfect. It happens. Sorry not trying to be downer and I have gone on far to long for a simple feeding question. Lol Happy Pokieing!

Didnt sling need 5-7 days to harden after a molt? From what i know if you offer a freshly molted T a food it can damage their fang and can be fatal

This be true but really it boils down to size. The smaller the spider the shorter the period of post molt. A .5 DLS sling and two days should suffice. I have fed slings this size 24 hrs thereabouts and never had any issues. They hit the 1" DLS bout a good 3 days. Most of the time the spider will refuse food anyway after a molt. My adult GBB after it's molt refused food well after 2 weeks. Then BAAAMMM the mack truck was back! Basically the bigger the spood the longer the post molt food withholding should go in case your spider were to do something rash! Happy Spoodering!!!
