My GBB thinks he's an Avic

So I have a GBB that's a juvi, about 4.5 inches across. He's generally a pet hole, has plenty of room for tunnels, and often hangs out at the entrance to his burrow waiting for food. The last 3 days or so I've noticed he is hanging out up at the lid of the container, even during the day. Just sitting there. Never really seen him do this, aside from one time when his substrate was too dry, which was my fault. Once corrected he was fine. Any ideas? He's fast as all hell and I don't want to disturb all his hard work but I thought maybe there's a moldy carapace or something in his burrow. I'm going to leave him alone but I figured it's worth asking.

Correction! I meant Cobalt Blue. It's a C.lividus. not a GBB.

Some folks consider GBBs semi arboreal. You can house them like non-avic arboreals they will do fine.
