So, I am very capable of molt sexing most slings, but I am finding that molt sexing my Poecilotheria challenging. I have three P. regalis and three P. rufilata slings. The rufilata are about 2.5" DLS, and the regalis are about 2.00" DLS.
From what I understand, at this size, the Poecilotheria spermatheca is not yet fused, so it may appear as two seperate spermathecae/"bifurcated"/split. And, of course, at this size, the spermatheca will not yet be sclerotized, making it even more difficult.
I have what I think are two female rufilata and one regalis.
If anyone has had success molt sexing Poecilotheria at smaller sizes, I'd appreciate your feedback and confirmation that my suspicions of female are indeed correct.
I have included two images of one of my P. regalis (one showing what I think is the uterus externus flipped down, to show that it is a flap, if that makes sense). The rufilata molts are pretty much identical to the regalis, so I don't think there is a need to post them, as well.
Apologies in advance for the potato-esque images; need to find my SIM card adapter so I can download from my scope to my PC.
