Hello guys, just got a mexican red knee a few days ago and i was wondering if someone could tell me if it’s a male or a female. The photos aren’t the best but I’ll try taking better ones.

Ventral sexing ( what you are asking for vladimir2002) isn't the most accurate way to determine the sex, even when you do have a clear view of the underside of the abdomen. Which you do not.

Eith a good view someone here with more talent than i could give you a good estimation of the sex. Also what species do you have and by that i mean the formal name?

Looks female to me. Males won't have an opening at the exuvium like that.

Thank you for the reply, I hope it is a female, but it’s also a bit small, I shall see when it grows a little more. Since i posted these photos i’ve seen a semi circle that appeared right at that opening, does that mean something else?

Not sure what that is but I go off of book lungs spacing and trying to spot epiandrous fusillae in males. Sometimes when males are that small, it can't be spotted but the area between the book lungs on the furrow will appear to have a semi circle shape when female.
