Is it dangerous to let tarantulas get too big?

I believe my dad is over-feeding his G. rosea. I can't get any pictures now, but she's a bit bigger than 4" and her abdomen is almost as big as the gravid B. albo pictured on the front page. I talked to him about it, because it seems to me it's dangerous to let them get that big, but it doesn't seem like he wants to change her feeding habits. Am I overreacting, or is it dangerous to let them get too big? Thanks!

yeas it can be dangerous. the bigger they get the more fragile they get.
If you raise the sub high enough that there's no room for a fall, you can greatly reduce the danger. Otherwise jus start feeding once a month.
